Goodbye 2008!

Time passing very quick. Another 45 minutes, i gotta waive my hand and say goodbye to year 2008 and welcome year 2009.

Another new year, it means i am a year older. I am sitting in front of my new notebook; listening to oldish songs while blogging and wondering why times passed so quickly that until i din even notice.

Remember those times, during my teenager period; i was crazy for Backstreet Boy; i bought most of the albums (of course those time, we normally listened to cassette), pasted the BSB's big poster on the wall behind my bed, watched Billboard Chart every Friday, listened to hitz.FM top 10 every nights, learnt to sing the hitz songs...

While i was in university, of course;I no longer crash for boy band but i was attracted by those talented singers and actors. Taufik Batisah (the first Singapore's Idol) was then became my idol. He is the most versatile singer i have ever seen. He can sings well regardless of jazz, rock, vocal, R&B and etc.

Okay, enough for the craps. Well, Yamuna asked me what my new year resolution is during lunch hour today. And then, i suddenly recalled that, the same thing Sook Wai asked me during last year' New Year's eve and i replied Sook Wai that my new year's resoluation was to file all the documents on daily basis so that i would not panic during report time. Apparently, the mission was failed miserably.

For year 2008, My biggest lost was i had lost both of my maternal's grandparents who had now join the GOD in peace.

Whereas, if you ask me, what's my biggest achievement for year 2008? Perhaps, It would be -I bought a unit (an apartment) with my sister by using our own money. (It's aint not bad, though; i guess).

For year 2009, I wish all of you...

Great start for Jan,
Love for Feb,
Peace for march,
No worries for April
Fun for May,
Joy for June to Nov,
Happiness for Dec,
Have a lucky and wonderful 2009.

Happy New Year!!! Wishing you all the best!!! Cheers!!!

Special Christmas gifts

Christmas is approaching soon. Most of the people are busy to purchase gift for their's loved one, for exchange gift event and etc.

While I was wrapping the christmas gift on Monday and thinking what would I get for the Christmas Exchange Gift Event in my department this coming Friday. A gift was delivered to me in receptionist's desk the following day.

I was kinda surprised. The gift was a small box (like a medical box) which full of "Nougat" with different favours and there was a little teddy bear lying beneath it. Besides that, it stated there:

"Sally's Stress Survival Pack"

* Open the box when things get really tough.
* warning: Not to be used overdose, it may caused obesity.

Cool, isn't it? There are some small cute pictures printed on the papers which symbolised that under what circumstances I may need to consume the "Nougat".

And, it most probably comes to me in a suitable time coz today I have a tough day in the office, I feel like swallow all the Nougats into my stomach...but it may caused obesity so...i just took one, hopefully it's medicinal.

Taddddaaaa...here the lovely gift. To be frank, I love it so much, it melts my heart and my heart is filled with sweets.

Ohh, my father left a book on my table surreptitiously on Monday. The title of the book is "The World according to Dad". I am yet to read it. Perhaps, my father is the Santa Claus who delivered the christmas gift to me and my sis earlier.

Wishing you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Falling in love with the Vampire

All this while, I am fascinating toward vampires due to they are immortal, they drink blood to survive, they are strong and they cannot expose to the sunlight. But, what makes them attractive is, vampires are handsome and pretty.

Back in 1994, the famous movie of the year -“Interview with the vampire”. After I watched the movie, I felt sympathy for a life of being as a vampire. Due to theirs’ immortality life, they are walking in the earth from year to years, from century to centuries. Adaptive is the only way to survive. They need to adapt the change of the world from sucking a human being’s blood to drink the animal’s blood. They cannot simply hunt for human in the street because if they do so, it’s considering a crime in this century.

Recently, there is a hot movie showing in the cinema- Twilight. It is from a vampire-romance novel written by Stephanie Meyer. In Twilight Series, there are altogether 4 books- Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
Twilight series won the best selling novel before and the 3rd book- Eclipse, it sold 150,000 copies in 24 hours during its 1st day published in the market and the Twilight books sold 25 million world wide.

Twilight, it is about a young and pretty high school gal- Isabella; Bella who falls in love with a vampire- Edward Cullen. The story began when Bella who just moved from Sunny Phoenix Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington. During they first meet in the class, Edward unable to resist his lust of young Bella's blood. Even though, Edward and his family are oppose to human blood and only drink animal's blood. Overtime, they fall in love. The story is about the relationship of Bella who her lover- Edward is a vampire and how Edward needs to protect Bella from being killed and the relationship of Bella and the entire Cullen's (vampire) family. Good books to read and it worth for collection.

Twilight- the cover is an apple which symbolize that the love between Bella and Edward is forbidden.

New Moon- the cover of New Moon is a red and white ruffled tulip.

Eclipse- the cover is a broken ribbon which indicates Bella needs to choose between her love with Edward Cullen and her friendship with werewolf- Jacob.

Breaking Dawn- The cover is a chess, may indicate the new life of Bella of being a vampire.

Robert Pattinson who plays the role as Edward Cullen in Twilight is handsome, charming, geogous and he blows me away. He well-carried the role as Edward Cullen. If I were Bella, I would definately fall to Edward. But, in reality; i could not imagine to love a vampire and tranform myself to vampire. If a vampire stands in front of me, without hesitate, i will definately faint, not to mention to love or date a vampire. To love a vampire, a person needs to have courage like Bella. This is a very nice and romantic young- adult novel, those who seek for romance, this series will not let you down.
Note: Robert Pattinson is the one who played the role as Cedric Diggory In Harry Potter and the Globet of Fire.

Diamonds are girls best friend!

Actually i have a lot of things to share and there are just many things i would like to blog. However, my going to 6 years old laptop is currently malfunctioned and it has sent to the workshop.

Before year 2008 kicks to end; no choice, i have to steal a little time from my working hours to blog. Shhh...

Ok, enough for the craps. Judging my captioned title; you know what am i going to share next. How true it can be?

There is a scene in Moulin Rouge when Nicole Kidman who played a role as the star of Moulin Rouge- Satine; singing the song "Diamonds are girls best friend", this song perhaps well-represented the heart of those Can-Can dancers whom performed the dance in the Moulin Rouge. In Moulin Rouge, there is no "love". Whereas, it's a place of "money" and "power". Money certainly became the greatest element in which they persuade in life.

During a marriage of a young couple, when the bridegroom does not have sufficient money to buy a diamond ring for the bridge; the bridge will not blame the bridegroom but she gets her man to promise to buy her a diamond ring whenever the husband is affordable. In short, diamond is essential to sustain a marriage. How true it will be? Look, if the husband fails to buy a diamond as he had promised before; the wife will keep begging until she received one.

In this century, most of the girls trend to be more realistic and materialistic. This is because the diamond which belongs to her, she can keeps it the rest of her life until the day she leaves the world and joins the GOD in peace. The diamond will not simply transfers to others unless she is willing to do so. Whereas, men are easily attach by others or easily transfer from one woman to another.

As such, a smart woman learns how to keep the diamond instead to keep the man. I guess, this is why “Diamonds are girls best friend” because diamonds will not betray her own master.

Welcome Obama to the White House!

Congratulation to Barack Obama who was elected to become the 44th America President; who is also the nation's first black president.

During the US Presidential Election, i have a faith in Obama that he will certainly takes his step toward the White House. No doubt that his charisma and prudent thinking had brought him to become the next US- President and certainly Hilary Clinton did a great job to support Obama by forgo her desire to cling to the next US-President.

Follow by his triumph; nowadays, Americans will strongly holding theirs' "American dream" which equal to "nothing is impossible and everything is possible".

Below is the speech derived from Obama's speech which had been delivered after he had won the election and i find it very cool!

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

"It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

"It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

"It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.

There are a lot of changes that Obama has promised to bring to the nation. Nevertheles, firstly; he needs to come out a proper solution to solve the credit crunch and the resession in US. Secondly,to solve the war in Iraq and of Afgranistan and etc.

Let's welcome Obama to the White House and hopefully with his attachment to the White House; fight for justice, look into the unequal treatment of the blacks and the most important thing- bring peace to the world!

Craving for pink?

Since I was young, blue is always my first choice of color; blue color bed sheet, blue color toothbrush, blue color school bag… I like blue coz I wish I like a bird to soar above the blue blue sky.

While I moved to secondary school; influenced by my beloved cousin sista; a great “Green” supporter. Everything in green. She said, green represents natural, like tropical forest, leaf, tree, green apple and it represents something that “alive”. Since then, I like both blue and green.

Izzit the preference of the color will change according to your age? Recently, I just realized that most of my goods are in pink. Am I craving for pink? I myself have no clue, perhaps; different products with different colors will create a different sense/ feeling towards the products.

My NaRaYa comestic bag with little pink roses printed on it.

This bag contains of skin care products. From NaRaYa too.

Charm handphone hanger. I wonder why i chose pink; it just crossed my mind to choose pink instead of other colors while the stallholder asked me to choose the color of the string.

Emm...here we go, my fragrance- Lovely from Sarah Jessica Parker. It is pink color as well.

Tadaaaaaa...here it is...my new jewelry box. Just bought it yesterday from Sunway Pyramid shopping centre. I was looking for such a fine and lovely jewelry container long long time ago. (PS: i do not have lot jewelries with me). What i need is a lovely container to keep my goods.

It imported from Hong Kong and it's just like a little wardrobe in which you can keep your favourite things in it.

And again; there are pink roses printed on it. Since it is a handmake product, of course the price is not cheap for me. Phew~~~But...I just like it. *Wink*

Steamboat

Steamboats refer to variety of dishes cooked in a simmering pot of broth at the table. Most of us tend to have a steamboat during raining day. While the weather is cold, with a spoon of hot broth and our favorite ingredients put inside the hot pot. The taste is just yummy.

If you like spicy food, perhaps; you can go to a steamboat shop at “Low Maji Restaurant”- 老妈子 at Bandar Puteri, Puchong to try for the spicy steamboat. You can order two broths at one pot. For eg, spicy broth and a Chinese herbal broth.

Well, for the food and broth; it is very subjective, some people may find it tasty whereas some may not. For me, if there are more variety of food to be added, it will be great.

Due to the overwhelming, reservation is needed. Dial 03-80601168 for reservation.

My sis had organized a steamboat session during Eng Hong's visit in KL last Saturday.

Here is the shop. The shop's name is just cool.

My new hair-style

I just changed a new hairstyle on last Sunday. The hairstylist is called Mike, he is the boss from Theme Saloon, in Equine Park. While i visited him, he asked me to try his skill by curl my hair. At first, i was doubt; but he seemed confident and persuaded me to do so. I whispered to myself that :" what if I don't like it?"

Then, Mike talked to me that he will rebond my hair to straight if I don't like the new hairstyle (curly) and it is totally F.O.C- Free of charge. What i need to do is return to his saloon in a week. And, guess what? He lowered down the price (the cost to curl the hair); the price that he charged me was actually much cheaper than other saloons. Hair, with my length definately cannot get such a good price in other saloons. Since Mike was confident and it was a very good offer for me. Gosh, I was unable to resist. Finally, here come to live of my new hairstyle.

I After the hair was done. I felt happy and appreciate. Not because of the hairstyle; it was the hairstylist. During the session, i was totally amazed by him, he shows passion in his career; handling each customer's hairs with cares. If there is score, I will give him 99/100.

And, most of my colleagues and friends like my new hairstyle. Despite, I will not keep this hairstyle for a long period, I have a new look coz I kept my long straight hair for almost 3 years. It has been a long time since I last perm my hair. Special thanks to the hairstylist- Mike.

Ladies, if you plan to rebond, perm or cut your hair, do let me know.Theme Saloon definately is the best choice of all coz nowadays it is not easy to find such a good and patient hairstylist.

Shoes & Shopping

I like shoes. For the matter of fact, I think most of the gals like shoes as well.

Men, perhaps; they do not understand why women need to get a pair of white color shoes despite in her shoes collection; there are more than 2 pairs of white shoes. This is because; women think that different shoes show different style. Perhaps; more sexier with a pair of string shoes, more cutie with a pair of pink shoes and fresh and innocent with a pair of white shoes. In contrast, this is why men have different color of neck ties because different ties suit different outfits.

Carrie Bradshaw in series of Sex and the City likes shoes very much. She spent most of her income on luxury and branded shoes. There is one scene in which she was robbed by a theft. She felt down and upset not because she has lost the money;it was because the theft had taken her new branded shoes which cost her US$ 485.

Shopping, men always have no clue why women like to shop. The fact is, women are sensitive; a lovely thing can really cheer up a gal’s day. Besides that, shopping can release tension. While you go to shop, you will get to know the latest fashion, latest new thing release in the market, and get to know the latest “hot” food in town. In term of economic, shopping can boots up the economic grow. As such, this can explained why there are more and more shopping complexes open in town and down town. No doubt, I like to shop also. While I am depressing, I used to shop alone and buy a lot of clothes and shoes to cheer my day. However, I am not a shoppoholic, I will weight the price and durable of the products prior any purchase is made. By shopping, I can also hang around with my friends and check out the brand new thing for fashions, products, food and services. Cool, huh?

Me and Jane shopping in the curve. We bought the same sleeveless shirt with diffrent color from MNG.

Super duber like my skinny Lewis Jeans brought from Bangkok.

This is my new spec, i spent total RM570 for my new spec and contact lens. No choice, I have to spend this amount of money due to my left eye sight dropped 100 degree.

Life...

Life is full of joys…
Life is full of mysterious…
Life is full of cheers and tears… No matter how, life still goes on.

During lunch break yesterday, I and my colleagues went to Dengkil to have lunch. With our least expectations; something bad was happened. My colleague, young Beryl who was driving along a straight road was hitting by a car. Although, it was not her fault, but she spent the half day to go to lodge the police report, send her car to the workshop… Thanks GOD that there was no injury.

Special dedicate to Beryl:
Trouble arrives in measure and we stack it up real high.
If you feel defeated, you’re absolutely wrong,

Never ever let the trouble darken your way, GOD is there to help.
Whereever you go and whatever you do, GOD is there to save you within his cares.

Let nothing darken the way.

Rational or Irrational

Naturally, during certain circumstances, we tend to solve our problem rationally. The consequences of the problem will be weighted prior any action taken toward it.

In term of relationship, some people may weight from A-Z before they opt for theirs’ life partner. For instant; range of salary, education level, outlook, personality and etc. Certainly, this is a logical thinking because water and bread are more essential than love.

Whereas, for some people, they will never measure what theirs’ other half really have. A person who falls into this category may think that love is more important than anything else. Obviously, some may think this is irrational.

Samantha Jones in the series of Sex and the City; while she was in loved with one of the richest men- Richard in New York; she was irrational to agree with Richard to have a 3 sum (3 people in a bed) during Richard’s birthday. After she found out that Richard cheated on her, she was rational to end the relationship by told straight to Richard’s face: “Look, Richard, I love you but I love myself more!” Despite, Richard did not cheat on her again and in love with her.

If a person is too rational, he /she may misses out something that is important to them. In contrast; if irrational, wrong action/ judgment may be taken place.

To be rational OR irrational?

Mid-Autumn Festival

I went back to my hometown last two weeks ago to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. I recall that while I was young, I like Mid-Autumn Festival very much because during this festival kids are allowed to play the “fire” with the lantern.
While I was in standard two, the teacher who taught me art requested each of us to come out a lantern. I was just 8 years old, of course, I was not managed to come out a lantern. So, my grandpa helped me and my sis to create the lantern. I can still remember it was a big “star shape” lantern made by bamboo sticks. Although, the lantern was not created on my own; I was very happy and I lighten my “star shape” lantern during the Mid-Autumn Festival of the year.

And, Nowadays, I am so disappointed to find out that Mid-Autumn Festival is no longer important or special for kids. Is it caused by different upbringing? Or, the advancement of the technology has taken the attention of the kids? During the mid-Autumn Festival of this year, I sought my cousins’ help to light up the lanterns around the font yard of the house. Right after my cousins had lightened up most of the lanterns; they went inside the house and continued theirs’ games. Just realized, my house is well-equipped with the latest computer games, PSP and play station.

No matter how; I personally hope that the myth and the purpose of the celebration will widespread from generation to generation. And, if you have missed the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival this year, plan to celebrate this warm festival with your family next year. Wishing you all the best!!!

A "big" mooncake brought to us by aunty Mei Peng. So called "Moon accompanied by seven stars".

Me taking a photo shoot after the meal, look kinda weird.

Day 4- Flight Back to Malaysia

Just realized, I have came back from Bangkok for more than a month. However, I am still blogging the topic related to Bangkok. So, I decided to finish the blog- topic related to my Bangkok's trip soonest as i can.

During the last day of our trip, we went to MBK and Central World to hunt for our favourite things. Of course, i was damn happy on the day itself, coz i bought a lot of bags from NaRaYa, in Central World. One thing needs to mention here is, NaRaYa's bag is very famous in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand due to its design and quality. All the bags are made by fine fabric.

Me going to take breakfast in the dining room.

I am eating Ramen in Central World. The Ramen there is nothing special, the taste is the same as the Ramen in Malaysia.

In Central World, there is a big departmental store- Zen. Here, you can buy a lot of things with resonable prices.

I like the background of the pic, however; i look weird here lo.

Me and my sista being driven to the airport by this taxi driver. He is talkative and friendly. He chat with me all the way from Hotel to the airport. He even offered me his CDs. He is a great fan of Elvis and Ricky Martin.

Me and Candice posting in front of the camera while waiting for the immigration procedure to be done. Due to Survanabhumi Airport is the main route for most of the flights. It is recommended to get to the airport much more earlier (3 hours prior to the flight). The chance to miss a flight is very high if reach there within 2 hours prior to the flight schedule.
There are wide range of products available in the duty free shops in the airport. Such as; comestic products, skin care prodcuts, souvenir, chocolate, handbags, alcohol, cigarette...

My new purchased wallet- from Carlo Rino. I purchased this wallet at Jaya Jusco, 20% discount.

Here we go, the bags purchased from NaRaYa, including, shopping bags, comestic bags, travel bag, purse...

Bangkok, no doubt, a shopping paradise for me. I am looking forward my next trip to Bangkok.

Chinatown, Siam Paragon & Siam Center

We went to Chinatown after massage. The Chinatown district is one of the oldest areas in Bangkok. Here, you can see a lot of vehicles and people are busying walking here and there. The ambiance here reminded me of Hong Kong. Besides that, most of the Chinese here can speak Cantonese and Mandarin.

In Chinatown, there are a lot of good food. The seafood here is simply delicious and cheap. The bird nest here is selling 300 baht or 400 baht per bowl. For shark fin soup, it is around 500 baht per person.

Here is Lim Chen Xiang, 林真香, a place in which you can buy a lot of yummy junk food for your friends and colleagues. Not forget to mention, if you are running out of Thai baht, you can pay Malaysia Ringgit here, because this shop accepts Malaysia Ringgit and the exchange rate here is the best rate in which you could not find such best rate elsewhere.

After this, we went to Siam Paragon- a well known shopping complex in Bangkok. It is one of the largest shopping malls in Asia. Whereas, for Siam Center, it is next to Siam Paragon, just a walking distance.

Outside the Siam Paragon.
Four of us posting in front of the camera. This picture was taken by a Thai guy. While we shorthanded, a Thai guy took the initiative and offered himself to help us to take the photo.
Since the Thai guy is helpful and nice then i took a pic with him. Not only me, each of us also taken photo with this guy.

We went for a drink after tired of shopping. I have no idea what i had drank the day, but one thing for sure is the drink was delicious. Oh, ya, all the shopping malls in Bangkok will close around 9.00 or 9.30pm. Not more than 10pm, most of the shops are close. Therefore, for those who wants to shop all day long in the shopping mall, my advice is, shop for your favourite before night.

In short, i was happy on the day because i managed to get a skinny Lewis's Jeans. Hahaha. At first, someone (no idea who she was) wanted the same jeans as me and it only left one in the shop. Thanks for "someone" who took another type of jeans and i managed to get the jeans that i desired for. Also, thanks for the sales gal who helped me to look for the jeans!
